Carpet Cleaning Done The Zero Residue Way

What does it take so that soap is not left behind on the carpet to dry and become crunchy and flaky and a health hazard?

My potential clients always tell me that the last carpet cleaner left their carpet feeling so soapy. They tell me that the carpet looked dingy afterwards too and that it dried kind of flaky and it was just a horrible mess. So I tell them that most likely it's because their equipment or their machine isn't strong enough to recover the water that they put down and also that they're probably running they're cleaning solution through their system using the same water they're supposed to be rinsing the carpet with. So what happens is that the soap is left behind because it never got rinsed out in the first place and now it's left to dry on the carpet and that's what gives it that flaky look and dingy looking appearance. A lot of times carpet cleaners or carpet cleaning companies are in a hurry to meet a quota and so what they do is they rush through your job and they're done in about 30 to 45 minutes because they have to hustle along to the next job due to the time constraint and so they end up not leaving your carpet clean. In fact it's now become a toxic soup because it's mixed in with all the dirt and grease and bacteria that might have been in your carpet before they even started cleaning.

But why is it that they leave my carpet with soapy residues and soaking wet?

Well that's a whole other story. There are a few different factors behind why carpets are left soaking wet. Number one and probably most important the carpet cleaner or technician that's cleaning your carpet doesn't have the right ethics or knowledge behind what they're doing. This makes for speeding through the job as fast as they can because they probably have a quota to meet and so they have to move it along to the next job as fast as they possibly can and that tends to make for soaking wet carpet that has to dry for 3 or 4 days. Also they may not have the right equipment and techniques in order to get your carpet the driest possible before they leave. A lot of times it's because they don't know what dry passes are. Dry pass wanding is when you go over the carpet without putting any sort of water down or doing any sort of flushing and rinsing while you're running the wand over the carpet. Basically, the technician is going over the carpet moving the wand across the carpet to get the carpet dry before they move it along to the next area of carpet to be cleaned. If a carpet cleaning technician is not doing this they are not cleaning the carpets correctly and exercising the right skills.

Often times not only is a carpet cleaner lacking on the proper wanding techniques, but they are also lacking on certain equipment. There is so much state-of-the-art equipment to be used and most carpet cleaners are just not utilizing them making for soaking wet carpets and a lot of residue left behind on the carpet to dry crunchy and flaky and make a toxic soup out of the cleaning chemicals and dirt grease and bacteria that was present on the carpet before hand.

The technician must know what they're doing when it comes to mixing the soap cleaning solutions, how strong to make them, how much of it to use or put down on the carpet so that they won't lose control of the liquid, and for how long to let it dwell before they start the steam extraction process.
